My Sizzlin' Summah in Manilah

Yes, another summer of heat, boredom, and heat. Seriously, I think the fan is blowing out hot air. :|
When school ends your like "Finally! No school! No waking up early! Whoohoo!" But nooooo. When summer does come... AAAAAAH!!!!!
And this year was so different from the last one. This year, we were all so close. We could ask anybody for a favor. Last year, nobody felt sad that grade 3 was coming to an end. But this year? Oh boy! Practically everybody cried. I didn't cry, though. I think all my tears were wasted during the ending of the movie "The Little Princess." We had to watch it for CLE.
And I'm living in Manila! It's so hot here. Actually, Manila's not that bad. The only thing that I don't like here is the reckless drivers (a.k.a. traffic), the pollution (air and water), the lack of trees, the heat, and the billboards. Other than that, I like it here.
But seriously, the billboards! I mean, billboards cause a lot of accidents. And they don't look pretty. What good does it do to our country?
And the lack of plants! I think that's what makes it hot around here. I mean, Singapore's colder than Manila, and it's nearer to the equator! I saw a house in Bel-Air, that looked like a bathroom. I mean, I like modern houses but this one was just too much. There were places that looked like plants where supposed to be there, but instead, there were rocks. They only had one plant (in the rocks) and it was dead. :| They should add bamboo. Bamboo looks nice on modern houses.
Well, I think that's all I have to say. PLANT TREES!!!!

I MET COLBIE CALLAIT!!! :-O

GUESS WHOM I MET YESTERDAY? Colbie Caillat!!! Aaaaaaah! As in met. Talked to personally and touched. Yes.

“Come and meet Colbie Caillat at the press conference in Tropezz Restaurant and Bar, Greenbelt 3 at 3pm today.” Mama read from her cellphone.

“OH MY GOSH! OH MY GOSH! OH MY GOSH!” my sister and I said, jumping
“Can we come? Pleeeeeeease?” I asked.
“Yeah, mom. We’ll study really fast!” My sister followed. It was only one o’clock then.

So, my mom allowed us (OH MY GOD we’re meeting Colbie Caillat and we’re going to a press conference! we went in our minds).

When we got there, we only went until the sliding door of the press conference since it was by invitation only. (“Ugh!”)

So Papa, Ate, and me stood outside. Ate and I were just talking when there was this tall foreigner with a flower in her hair and a group of people. O M G! IT’S COLBIE CAILLAT !!! She was so tall! I bet she’s like 5”11’. Anyway, she just like passed by us with my sister and I staring at her with opened mouths.

So Papa had to go inside but he said that Mama was going here (outside). So my mom went outside. She said that we have to go inside because nobody would take care of us outside. So we went inside, since there weren’t a lot of people.

“Can I borrow your phone?” I asked her. I just had to tell Danielle.

“Okay.” Mama replied.

So I called Dan.

“Guess where I am right now?” I already told her that I was going to the press conference.

“Oh my God!” she screamed, “I hate you! I told you to bring me!”

The call went on. After I talked to her I put my mom’s phone in my bag.

Kat Alano introduced Colbie and they asked questions, my sister took pictures yade-yade-yah. She just seemed like a normal person with a cool job. She acted like she was “one of us”. And she seemed shy like any other person would.

There was this person who asked this “Who are your musical inspirations?”

“Umm… I like listening to Natasha Beddingfeild, John Mayer, and Amy Winehouse because their voices are so strong.” she replied

Wow! The same things my sister and I listen to. I mean, we don’t really listen to Amy Winehouse, but we have a lot of John Mayer and Natasha Beddingfeild songs in our iPods.

Then it was Mama’s turn to ask a question. “It seems like songwriting is your passion. But what really is your passion? Singing or songwriting?”

“Singing is my passion.” She replied, “I sing everywhere. In the shower, going to the mall… Everywhere.”

She’s like me! All of my classmates get annoyed that I keep on singing. There wasn’t anytime that I don’t have a song in my head. Even in my dreams, I have music playing.

After the presscon I kept on nagging my mom to take a picture of me with Colbie Caillat. Once she was free we asked her for a picture and an autograph.

“She likes singing too and is a fan of your songs.” Mama said to Colbie.

“Oh really? Just keep on practicing and take vocal lessons and everything.” Colbie said to me.

I nodded my head, speechless. She’s talking to me! I can’t believe Colbie Caillat is talking to me! I thought. She had to eat after that.

We got 3rd row seats in the concert, and there was this smelly guy in front of my dad. The guest artist was Julianne and she sang “Grateful”, something, and some Bob Marley song .

When Colbie got out, she said that Julianne impressed her! Wow! That’s so cool! I want Colbie Caillat to be impressed with me!

She only sang five songs, and her last song was “Bubbly”. She didn’t sing Magic! But people started shouting “MORE!” or “SING MAGIC!” and there was this really loud girl behind me saying, “I don’t know what the song Magic is but SING MAGIC!”

So she came out for an encore and sang Magic, my favorite song in the whole world! It was the album version.

Colbie Caillat is very pretty in person. That’s all I have to say. Well, toodles!

Without Rest (this is not March 12)

Ya, so, today is the 27th of  May, and I have gone a week without sleeping in(my first time). And being alergic to sweat dosn't help. My whole face and neck gets so dry. Including my elbows. I get bumps like chicken pox on my arms, neck and back. But don't worry. It's not contagious.
And 5(or is it 4?) - used to be 6(or 5) - guys in class like me(why ME?!). I won't tell you who. It might brake their hearts and you might beat them up (i'm so vain).

OMG! I'M USING XANGA AGAIN!!! Ahh (there's a difference between "ahh" and "aah"). This brings so much memories... Apparently, a lot of people have been visiting this site, and seen that it's not updated. Soooo embarrassing ! And when I look back, I actually write kinda well! I mean, for a nine year old! I know it's only been a year but, I seriously write differently. I write more maturely now .

Okay, advice: Don't visit this site anymore. Visit http://kiaramiren.multiply.com/ that's the site i use right now. 'Cause I think multiply is better. No offense, xanga . But, every once in a while, I will post. Like in a year. Just joking! I don't know when I will post next, but surely this is not the last post in xanga. But just to let you know, I will not be posting anything but blogs here. This is my journal page.

I'm so excited!!! 5 days till summer!!! Yay! But the bad thing is, that a lot (and I mean a lot) of my batch mates are leaving AC . But everyone knows the good thing: NO SCHOOL! Summer means: days in the relaxing beach (even though there is none in Makati) reading my book, enjoying Repertory Summer Workshop with my friends, dancing in the Pasinaya and telling ghost stories in the park after, swimming at Kim Turingan's house, and just having fun.

Disadvantage? Trimestrial Exams . Ugh! Days of studying your hardest before days of relaxing and serenity. Wow. Just great. I hope Social Studies and Filipino are not in the same day. They are the hardest subjects. It would be a nightmare if that happened.

Well, I guess that's it! See ya in a year!

by Lady Larken

Rep is super fun! Please watch our play "Once Upon A Mattress". It's at 7:30 on the 29th at Onstage Theater, Greenbelt 3. It is P150 per ticket. I am playing Lady Larken. She has all the lovey dovey parts. Hope you can make it!

It's so annoying! First, I wanted to be Princess Winnifred because she was the lead role. And when I got to be Winnifred, I wanted to be Larken because I am used to play a sweetie sweetie and lovey dovey roles. But now, that I'm Larken, I want to be Winnifred because she has a funner and more challenging role. Winnifred, Winnifred, Larken, Larken, Winnifred. But I can make up my mind now. I WANT TO BE WINNIFRED!!!!!!! Is that so hard to get?!

It's never my fairy tale is it?
